As a Business Administrator your role will be appointed by Mitie to support GSK and engage with different parts of the organisation and interact with internal or external customers. With a focus on adding value, the role of a business administrator contributes to the efficiency of an organisation through support of functional areas, working across teams and resolving issues as requested. You would also be expected to show initiative, problem-solving skills and decision-making techniques, manage priorities and own time, as well as show potential for people management responsibilities through mentoring or coaching others.
What it's like being a Level 3 Business Administrator

The duties of a Business Administrator include providing office support to GSK and interacting with clients to build good relationships whilst being fully committed to developing their technical and behavioural know-how. Other duties and responsibilities of Business Administrators may include:

• Attending and passing all courses, assessments, and training
• Complying with all company, Provider and Mitie policies and procedures
• Attending the site, NVQ and Training Provider institute on the required dates and times
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records to the specified standards at all times for the site, NVQ and Training provider institute
• Keep designated manager/supervisor aware of progress and to ensure that any coursework (NVQ) requirements are known
• Being pro-active and involved when looking at forthcoming in-company work
• Making records available for review as and when requested
• Representing the company in a courteous and professional manner
• Reporting any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment
• Ensuring all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received
• Proactively identifying and reporting security risks to your manager
• Reporting actual and suspected security incidents



• Some experience of working in a customer facing role would be an advantage but not a requirement


• Ideally English, Maths and Science GCSE A-C grade or equivalent (however lower grades will be considered, so don’t be put off)

So how does the apprenticeship work?

Over 15 months, you’ll devote 20% of your 45 hours of working time towards a Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship. You’ll be trained by an expert tutor from Tiro as well as an experienced mentor at Mitie, who together, will make sure you develop the knowledge, skills, and work habits you’ll need to succeed in your career. The best part? You’ll be earning a salary while you learn.

Being an apprentice is hands-on, so you’ll get the chance to learn things you might otherwise not have experienced in a university or college environment.

Tiro and Mitie’s goal is to transform you into a fully competent business administrator, ideally open to accepting a full-time, permanent position within the team.
