Whilst existing as a separate IT support company, many of our clients rely on us as if we were their own in-house IT department. Providing expert knowledge and decades of combined experience, our team will advise your company through each decision, from helping to source the correct hardware from leading suppliers to updating software, dealing with day-to-day IT issues or moving your entire business’s infrastructure to the cloud.
We can provide a range of IT services, from small business IT support, to cloud services for international organisations.
You’ll join Carden IT as an Infrastructure Technician for a fixed period of 15 months. The purpose of the Apprenticeship is to develop an Apprentice in the role of 1st Line Support.
Duties to include (working on/with):
Microsoft Operating Systems (desktop and server)
VMware Esxi/VCentre Server
DNS, DHCP etc.
VPNs, Router and Firewalls
Networking – WAN, LAN, Security, SSL, IP Routing, Switching
Anti-Virus platforms such as Trend Micro
Backup solutions (Windows Backup, Acronis, Veeam)
For which full training will be provided.
Skills and characteristics
Ability to solve problems under pressure, prioritising effectively.
Ability to escalate when required in a timely manner.
Strong customer service skills.
Excellent telephone manner is essential and although you will not be customer facing you must be smart and presentable.
Excellent time keeping
Excellent attention to detail
So how does the apprenticeship work?
Being an apprentice is hands-on, so you’ll get the chance to learn things you might otherwise not have experienced in a university or college environment.
