Job Title: Business Administrator Tutor & Assessor

Based at: London, Portsmouth & Southampton

Reporting to: CEO/Head of Talent Acquisition

Salary: Negotiable

Job Summary: 

To help develop an innovative educational package to train apprentice business administrator within the education sector. This includes providing high quality training and support to candidates studying on our apprenticeships and other programmes. This is an exciting time to join Youthforce as we grow and finesse our current programmes within the education sector. This role would particularly suit someone who has the ambition and enthusiasm to shape this new venture. 

Key Responsibilities

– Provide ongoing support to candidates from induction to completion
– Attend regular standardisation and team meetings
– Help develop the curriculum and assist with other projects (writing materials, lesson plans, schemes of work etc.)
– Assess learner’s work using a range of methods via an e-portfolio system (training given)
– Adapting activities to suit the needs and individual circumstances of candidates
– Visit learners in the workplace to assess and build professional relationships
– Work with other members of the team to ensure standardised practice and high standards
– Maintain records to standards expected by the internal verifier and awarding bodies
– Complete paperwork (e.g. enrolments, reviews and ILP’s) to the standard required by funding partners and Ofsted
– Undertake professional development in line with Youthforce and Institute for Learning  guidelines

Personal Specification


– Hold a qualification linked to subjects being taught – PTLLS
– It is desirable to hold a teaching qualification or assessing award, however, these are not essential as training can be given. It is expected that tutor/assessors will become qualified within 18 months.
– GCSE A-C English or equivalent is essential
– GCSE A-C Maths or equivalent plus 5 other GCSEs or equivalent are desirable
– D34 or IQA qualifications would be a bonus as there scope for other opportunities within our training team. 


– To have a high personal standard of English including spelling, grammar and spoken English
– To be IT literate with an ability or willingness to learn how to use an e-portfolio system
– Understanding and sympathetic of student’s individual needs
– High standard of personal organisation
– Be able to deliver qualifications and professional development courses to young people and adult learners.
– Quick learner who embraces change and development
